New Delhi: JP Nadda, the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, is scheduled to visit Udupi in Karnataka on Monday, February 20 to take part in the district-level booth committee convention and 2 other programs, sources said.
Nadda will participate in the Mega Vehicle Jatha at Byndoor and then address a public meeting at Mullikatte. The national leader of the BJP will reach Udupi, Karnataka, at 10 a.m. in Udupi. He will take part in the district-level booth committee convention. He will then go on to take part in a mega vehicle jatha at 2 p.m. in Byndoor and hold a public meeting at 2.30 p.m. in Mullikatte. People aware of the matter said further adding that the Udupi programme will be attended by the members of 1,111 booth committees. "Necessary arrangements for their participation will be arranged. Members from 1,111 booth committees throughout the district will attend the programme in Udupi.", it added.
Significantly, the party's high brass frequently attends these gatherings to boost the spirits of party members since they have been told to finish their tasks prior to Nadda's programme so that everyone can attend and engage with him.
Notably, The Karnataka Assembly polls are due in April-May to elect all 224 members of the Legislative Assembly.
Karnataka is the only southern state where the BJP is in control as a result of a leadership transition in July 2018 that saw Basavaraj Bommai succeed then-chief minister BS Yeddiyurappa.
Even though Yeddyurappa is no longer in power, the former chief minister is the tallest Lingayat leader. The single largest community in Karnataka, Lingayats make up approximately 17% of the total population and are primarily concentrated in the north of the state. They have historically supported the BJP. He was just made a member of the parliamentary board, the party's highest administrative body.
