TRIPURA: BJP national president  JP Nadda is set to release  the manifesto for the Tripura assembly elections slated to be held on February 16. "Nadda will release the manifesto for the Tripura assembly elections on February 9. He will visit Tripura on the same date," party source said.
"There many new points have been added in the manifesto that is important for the development of the state. Modi government always thinks about the development of the NorthEast. His vision is the growth of state and most importantly youth", the source added. It further said that after releasing the manifesto, he  is scheduled to address a public rally. "In the morning he will offer prayer at Tripura Sundari Mandir. After releasing the manifesto, Nadda will address a rally as well," it added.
The Act East policy of the PM Narendra Modi government has placed a specific emphasis on the northeastern area since taking office in 2014. While the prime minister has personally visited the area more than 50 times, the creation of a safe northeast has received significant attention. The welfare of people through infrastructure, development, and women are anticipated to be the main focus areas in the manifesto for the elections on February 16 in addition to security and law and order. both the wellbeing of the tribal people and the acknowledgment of the native tribes. The BJP's agenda continues to be dominated by the developments in the Northeast.
Assam twice elected the BJP, once in 2016 and again in 2021, while Manipur twice did the same in 2017 and 2022, transforming the northeast into a "saffron belt." The party is hoping that they would also be able to form the government in Tripura for a second consecutive term. Jobs, healthcare amenities like to AIIMS, the pay matrix of the 7th Pay Commission, raising the monthly social stipend to Rs 2,000, housing for 3.8 lakh families, access to drinking water for 53% of households, and other pledges were all included in the BJP's most recent platform for Tripura.
Rajnath Singh, the defence minister, and Yogi Adiyanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, both addressed rallies on Wednesday. The party has intensified its campaign in the state. In his speech to the "Vijay Sankalp" rally in west Agartala, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attacked the Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist), comparing them to broken musical instruments.
"In Tripura, the sitar and the flute represent the opposing parties. The CPI(M) is a sitar with frayed strings, but the Congress is a flute with numerous holes in it. There is no longer any melody in them." Fear, hunger, and corruption were rampant during the CPI(M) administration in this state, and it wasn't until the BJP took office that things started to improve, said the Defence Minister.
Singh urged the populace to vote the BJP back into office in the state "We had five years, and in that time, we transformed Tripura. We'll make it the top state if you give us another five years." On February 16, there will be elections for the 60 seats. While voting will take place on February 27 in Meghalaya and Nagaland, respectively. On March 2, there will be a simultaneous vote count in all three states. However, the BJP is running alone in Meghalaya after vowing not to establish an alliance, despite the fact that it currently has one with the National People's Party (NPP).
The BJP is running in 20 out of 60 seats in Nagaland in an alliance with Nephew Rio's Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP).
