JP Nadda, the BJP's national president, said: "The first round of Manipur Assembly elections gets underway today, with 38 delegates up for election. Your one vote will determine the direction of your state and country. I'm urging everybody to vote in great numbers."
BJP Manipur in-charge Dr Sambit Patra tweeted, urging people to vote before breakfast: "The first phase of Manipur Assembly elections 2022 is already underway, with 38 delegates up for election. Manipur's next five years will be characterized by this day. It is a sincere request to all Manipur residents to vote in huge numbers for the security and development of the state."
