Nargis started her acting career at the age of just five. In 1935, Jaddanbai gave Nargis a job for the first time in her film 'Talaash-e-Haq', from where she was named Baby Nargis. At the age of 14, she had her first audition as a heroine. This audition was for director Mehboob Khan's film 'Taqdeer'. Nargis was the first actress in the best actress categories.
