According to the data released on Wednesday by the Union Health Ministry, 612 people have been confirmed to be infected across the country with 116 cases in Maharashtra and 109 cases in Kerala, of which 562 are undergoing treatment and 40 have been cured. According to the ministry's data, 10 people have died due to coronavirus infection in the country, including the first death in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. The administration has stepped up preparations to deal with the situation and has arranged 2,000 beds in the military ordnance factories and central paramilitary forces hospitals under isolation ward to treat the infected.
