On Tuesday, a hearing has started in the Supreme Court on the petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the Modi government's decision to abolish most of the provisions of 'Article 370' of the Constitution granting special status to India's state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Senior advocate Raju Ramachandran started a debate on behalf of Shah Faizal, a bureaucrat who entered politics before a 5-member constitution headed by media reports judge NV Raman. Ramachandran informed the bench about the scope of his debate in this case.
Other members of the Constitution Bench include Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Justice R. Subhash Reddy, Justice BR Gavai and Justice Suryakant. Ramachandran said that he would debate the question of whether 'Irreversible Changes' could be brought to the federal relations between the state and the center under the guise of temporary presidential rule.

In his statement, he said that he will also debate the question whether this can be done without the participation of the people of Jammu and Kashmir through elected representatives because now this state has been divided into two union territories.
Apart from this, Ramachandran said, "The second important issue is especially in the context of Jammu and Kashmir when there is a system of change in relations in Article 370 itself, So can that system be ignored while making unchanging changes?"
