Currently, a lockdown has been declared in the country due to the rapidly spreading coronavirus. During this time, most people with disabilities have to face trouble. They are also facing difficulties for their daily needs like food and medical facilities.

For your information, let us tell you that while explaining the situation of the Differently-abled people, the Executive Director of National Center for Promotion of Employment for Differently-abled people (NCPEDP), Armaan Ali said that meeting the daily needs has become a challenge. Even people are not able to take food and medicine. Most Divyang people live in rural areas. Divyang living in urban areas are able to meet their needs in some way.

In his statement further, Ali said that people who are poor and are going to earn and eat daily, are finding it difficult to survive in this lockdown. There is a lack of awareness about lockdown. However, he said that he has also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding this. In which the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has been asked to implement the guidelines for the empowerment of persons with disabilities.
