Kozhikode on Thursday overturned a petrol tanker near Watkara, causing 12,000 litres of fuel to spill onto the road. Police said that the incident took place at around 5.30 am and the driver of the truck was injured. A fireman of the rescue team said, 'Fire brigade reached the spot and we controlled the situation. The tanker had 12,000 litres of fuel. All the fuel is exhausted. According to the police, the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) fuel-laden truck hit the road roller.

Apart from this, he said that this 4000-litre petrol was kept in three separate compartments. Police said, only the driver was injured in the accident and has been admitted to a nearby hospital. It was told that the road has been closed and traffic has been diverted.

Passengers are facing a lot of inconvenience due to the overturning of the petrol tanker route. Because the oil on the route was scattered all around. For this reason, the route has been changed in the police, due to which the drivers are forced to turn around earlier. It is believed that petrol will be cleared from the route in due time.
