National Legislators Conference: ‘We only For Development', PM Modi addressed MPs, MLAs

Delhi: PM Modi inaugurated National Legislators Conference on 'We For Development' on Saturday in the Central Hall of Parliament.

“A spirit of competitive and cooperative federalism is very good for the country, “said PM Narendra Modi

“In every state, there are a few districts where development parameters are strong. We can learn from them and work on weaker districts,” PM Narendra Modi added.

“The very fact that you are sitting where once Pandit Nehru, Ambedkar, and Sardar Patel sat brings in a sense of purity in itself, “PM Modi asserted.

The word 'backward' must not be used for any district - we need to make an atmosphere of 'forward' in the country, PM Modi showed the optimistic way to MPs and MLAs.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan welcomed all the delegates at Conference.

In the opening ceremony, Sumitra Mahajan addressed the Conference and said that about key roles of MPs and MLAs.

“We have to make sure that development reaches the last man standing in line, " said Lok Sabha Speaker.

The object of the conference is to bring MPs and MLAs on a single platform where ideas and plans for development can be exchanged broadly. Role of public representatives in development and optimum use of resources will be the major subjects on agenda for high-level discussions.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, Officials said the conference will hold discussions on how women help in the development work being done for the country where ideas on projects and plans can be debated.
