In the Indian state of Maharashtra, the party (BJP) has started celebrating him amid speculation of BJP leader Eknath Khadse going to NCP. Former Maharashtra minister Sudhir Mungantiwar on Wednesday admitted that senior BJP leader Eknath Khadse is unhappy with the party but all the leaders have said that they will try to convince him. There are speculations that Khadse can leave BJP and go to NCP. After coming to the fore, the party's people have stepped up their efforts.

According to media reports, Khadse resigned as the then Revenue Minister in the year 2016. He was accused of inconsistency in land during the tenure of the BJP-led government. Khadse was the senior-most minister in Devendra Fadnavis-led cabinet at the time.

Speaking to reporters at Vidhan Bhavan on Wednesday, BJP's Mungantiwar said, "Khadse sahib will not leave. The BJP (our party) is in their DNA. The BJP leader said, 'He (Khadse) is unhappy, but we will try to convince him to stay in the BJP.' Since being forced to resign in 2016, BJP leader Eknath Khadse has been stung. And the tussle between the party (BJP) intensified when he was denied a ticket to contest the state assembly elections in October this year.
