The special court On Saturday, sentenced former MLA Shakuntala Khatik and seven other Congress leaders from Karera in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh for three years to deal with criminal cases against MPs and MLAs. Along with this, a fine of Rs 5000 has also been imposed on him. In fact, during a farmer demonstration in Mandsor in 2017, Khatik had threatened to burn the police station.

For your information, let us tell you that in June 2017, the farmers had agitated in Mandsaur. During this time, Congress workers led by the then Congress MLA Shakuntala Khatik demonstrated in Karera to protest the firing. During the protest, the activists burnt the effigy of the then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. During the protest, the crowd had become very uncontrolled. To control the mob, the police started splashing water from the Vajra vehicle. At the same time, the MLA, inciting the crowd present there, said that set the police station on fire, which will be seen.

According to media reports, when Sanjeev Tiwari, the in-charge of the police station, tried to stop the mob, MLA Khatik and his supporters used foul language with the station in-charge Sanjeev Singh and entered the police station. Here she was beaten up using shoes and slippers. After this case, the police registered a case against Satish Verma, Manish Khatik Venus Goyal, Bunty Yadav, Shakuntala Khatik, Deepak Gupta, Narayan Jatav under various sections including arson and inciting common people and obstructing official work. Challan was presented in court.
