On 26 January 1950, the first President Dr. Rajendra Prasad was sworn in. After his post, he served from January 26, 1950, to May 13, 1962. He was president twice. On 26 January 1950, after taking the oath of office, he left from Prince Edward Place (now Rashtrapati Bhavan) to Irvine Stadium (now National Stadium) in a state hall from 230 noon.
