The Modi government has recently convened a special meeting to review various projects. Looking at this meeting, it seems that the government wants to speed up development work. The name of this review meeting was 'Pragati'. During this time, PM Modi was very impressed with the status report of the famous Khurda-Balangir railway project of Odisha. The 25-year-old Khurda-Balangir railway line was hanging since 1995.

In the year 2015, PM Modi got an eye on this railway project. He was very angry at that time by the PM's status report. Expressing his displeasure, he had told the PMO officials that this area is home to the neediest people, who are backward from the rest of the areas and are in desperate need of government help. The PM had said that this project needs to be given priority. If by the year 2000, the work had finished, the cost of the project would have reduced and the people of Northeast India would have benefited from it.
