The issue of rae Bareli in her parliamentary constituency was raised by UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. He attacked the central government and questioned the bad condition of public sectors, right from abolishing the railway budget. Hitting out at the central government, he said rae Bareli has an old railway factory in the country. Why the factory is being privatised, it will make thousands of workers jobless, in future of workers. He questioned why the tradition of the Railway Budget was abolished. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had termed public-sectors industries as the temple of democracy but today it is sad to see their condition as the workers are not getting their salaries on time. "The future of thousands of workers is in danger," he said.

Earlier, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla directed the MPs not to rise and make any remarks in the middle of the proceedings of Parliament. The Indian Medical Amendment Bill, 2019 is likely to be passed in the Lok Sabha today. It seeks to hand over the functions of the Medical Council of India to a Governing Board for two years and to reconstitute the Council during this period. Earlier, Congress MP Kodikunel Suresh had given notice to the Lok Sabha on the suspension of education loans in NAAC affiliated colleges. On the other hand, 14 opposition parties including Congress, Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party, BSP, Aam Aadmi Party gave notice in the Rajya Sabha to discuss the need for electoral reforms in the country.

For your information, all these parties have sent a petition to the Rajya Sabha Chairman. The petition seeks to discuss electoral reforms in the House. On the other hand, the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting is underway at the GMC Balyogi Auditorium in the Library Building of Parliament. The petition has been submitted to Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu on behalf of opposition parties. It seeks to discuss electoral reforms and fair elections. The Chairman has accepted it and it will be discussed on 9th July. The pittings are the signatures of CPI, CPM, DMK, NCP, RJD, Kerala Mani Congress, Jhammo and AAP leaders. Earlier on Monday, the Rajya Sabha approved a bill to extend the period of President's rule in Jammu and Kashmir by six months and to provide 10 per cent reservation to the economically weaker sections of the state. The Home Minister had said that the Central government will not delay even a day when the Election Commission is ready for assembly elections in the state.
