Regarding the matter, a senior official of the security agency said that through violent protests in Assam, the citizenship law was being opposed by the public while the truth was different. According to a report sent to the Center by an agency, the terrorist organization ULFA was supporting the movement and there was also talk of providing arms to the agitators among their terrorists.

A ULFA militant also asked Deputy Chairman Pradeep Gogoi to provide arms to the agitators. He knew whether it would be right to distribute 60% of the weapons with the terrorist organization among the villagers.
