The Supreme Court of India has appointed CN Ramachandran Nair, a retired judge of the Kerala High Court, to prepare a list of jewelry of the deities at the Sabarimala temple. The Supreme Court has asked to submit a detailed report within four weeks. She can appoint a person responsible for keeping the jewelry in custody until the dispute is resolved.

According to media reports, on Thursday, the Supreme Court reserved judgment on other matters related to discrimination against women at religious places including Sabarimala temple. The next hearing of the case will be on Monday i.e. 10 February. Earlier, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta gave his arguments in the hearing held on 6 February.

Some lawyers gave their opinion on the objections made by some lawyers on linking with matters related to other religions. He said that the issue before the Bench of 9 judges has nothing to do with the Sabarimala case and its review. The Solicitor General further said that the bench hearing the review petition did not send the entire verdict in the Sabarimala case to the larger bench. Instead, large matters related to religious traditions were sent to a large bench.
