The Supreme Court on Friday granted additional time to the Central Bureau of Investigation to file a counter affidavit on the plea of Karnataka BJP Minister G. Janardhana Reddy, along with Bellary of Karnataka seeking permanent relief in the conditions of bail and Permission has been sought to go to Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh. Justices Arun Mishra and Indira Banerjee have listed the matter for further hearing. The next hearing will be held on 16 March. Earlier, the court had issued a notice to the CBI and sought its response to the petition. Last year, on 8 June, the court allowed Reddy to go to Bellary district for two weeks so that he could meet his ailing father-in-law.

Permission was sought by petitioning Reddy. While granting bail in 2015 in the illegal mining case, the Supreme Court banned his hometown Bellary and visiting Anantapur and Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh.
