The National Startup Awards was given by the Government of India on October 6, 2020, to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation in the country. The edition invited applications in 12 major categories subdivided into 35 categories. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has delivered the award. A Cash prize of Rs 5 lakh and opportunities to present the winner's solutions to relevant public authorities and corporate, for potential pilot projects and work orders will be provided. The national startup awards were awarded beyond financial gains like Innovation, Scalability, Inclusiveness and Diversity, Economic Impact, Environmental Impact and Social Impact. Karnataka tops the list with 418 entries.
