On Wednesday, senior Congress leader Karan Singh said that the army should be deployed if necessary to establish peace in the violence-hit areas of Delhi. After the situation becomes normal, a judicial inquiry should also be conducted to determine its responsibility.

Karan Singh, a Rajya Sabha member from Delhi, said, "After living in Delhi for more than half a century and representing it in Parliament, I have been incredibly shocked by this communal violence in the capital."

In his statement, he further said that the loss of life and property in this violence will remain a blot on our capital for years. The 88-year-old Congress leader appealed to all communities not to get caught in the clutches of communal polarization and violence, which would cause more casualties and loss. Karan demanded that along with the families of those killed in the violence, proper compensation should also be given to those whose property has been damaged.
