New Delhi: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya dedicated a song to the country's "health army" as he greeted citizens on National Vaccination Day on Wednesday. The Health Minister stated in Hindi in a tweet today, "Whenever there is a sense of sorrow in this place... We shattered the fluke's moonlight... We bring the light of the stars to you... With that illumination, it was daybreak. This song is dedicated to our health army's heroic efforts and valour. They are the reason our country is safe today. Salute to such individuals. #NationalVaccinationDay."
To commemorate National Vaccination Day, all Government COVID vaccination centres are offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to all recipients aged 12 to 14. Corbevax, a COVID-19 vaccine developed by Biological E. Limited in Hyderabad, is being given to this age group. Furthermore, as of today, all people over the age of 60 are eligible for a prophylactic dose, as the comorbidity condition for this age group has been abolished. The precaution dose (the same as the previous two doses) is to be given 9 months (36 weeks) following the second vaccine, according to a statement released today by the Health Ministry.
According to preliminary reports, India's COVID-19 immunisation coverage has surpassed 180.60 crore (1,80,60,93,107) as of 7 a.m. today.
