In the cabinet of CM Captain Amarinder Singh, Navjot Singh Sidhu has served as the local body minister for two and a half years, but now Sidhu is sad to stop development work in his constituency. Sidhu, who has kept his distance from the people of his constituency, has written a letter to Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to start development works in the eastern assembly constituency. However, no reply has been received to this letter written on 16 July.

In a letter written on 16 July, Sidhu had discussed five railway over bridges with the district circles. In which he took the name of CM, referring to the construction works of the bridge. He told the CM that "In October 2018, the foundation stone of the works of these ROBs was laid and 137 crores were sanctioned for it. Two of these ROBs were from his constituency. The construction of these ROBs has not started yet, while funds and tenders were issued for their construction."

"In December 2019, 5 crore rupees were released by CM for the development work of my light under Punjab Environmental Improvement Project Phase-1. Information about where to spend this amount was sent to you. Despite this, the work did not start. Permission has been granted for development works of 24 crores under Phase 2 of this project. Out of this, in which area the development works worth Rs 11 crore has to be done".
