Amritsar: Navjot Singh Sidhu, who resigned as the president of the Punjab Congress unit, has now made a big statement saying, "I will continue to follow the path shown by Gandhiji and Shastriji and stand with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi whether I get the post or not. Let all the negative forces continue to defeat me, I will ensure Punjab's victory with every positive energy, Punjabiyat will win and every Punjabi will win," Sidhu added.

The political turmoil in the Punjab Congress continues. Former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat is said to be removed from the post of state in charge of Punjab. Harish Chaudhary can be given the responsibility in his place. Punjab has been undergoing major changes one after the other for the past 15 days. Here first Captain Amarinder Singh resigned as CM of Punjab. This was followed by the crowning of Charanjit Singh Channi. Meanwhile, Sidhu stepped off as Punjab state president. Rawat has so far failed to settle these issues while in charge of Punjab.
 
Earlier on Friday, it was reported that efforts were being made to put an end to the ongoing dispute between newly appointed CM Charanjit Singh Channi and Navjot Singh Sidhu in Punjab. Sidhu's displeasure came to light due to appointments made by the state government. CM Charanjit Singh Channi had then taken a major decision to resolve these disputes. In fact, the Punjab government has issued a direction to appoint Senior Advocate Rajwinder Singh Bains of the Punjab-Haryana High Court as special public prosecutor.
