New Delhi: The Indian Navy has received another indigenous warship. INS Mormugao was commissioned into the Indian Navy at a ceremony held in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday. INS Mormugao is one of India's most modern warships with about 75 percent of its equipment and weapons made in India.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh remembered the great personalities while addressing the ceremony organized on the occasion of the induction of INS Mormugao into the Navy. He also referred to personalities like Chhatrapati Shivaji, Sambhaji, and Kanhoji as well as former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. Rajnath Singh said that this Visakhapatnam class missile destroyer is one of the most powerful warships built in India. He said that this warship will significantly enhance India's maritime capability with its capabilities. Addressing the marines, Rajnath Singh said that you protect our coastline as well as the maritime region. They also protect our wealth, wealth and happiness, and prosperity. He also talked about the navy's contribution to the country's security as well as socio-economic progress.
Rajnath Singh said that the sea on three sides of the country is no less than a boon. Its location makes it strategically, commercially and resource-intensive. He said that this warship designed by MDSL is a great example of our indigenous defense production capability. Rajnath Singh said that in the coming time, we will build ships not only for our needs but for the needs of the world. He listed the features of INS Mormugao and said that it will be one of the most advanced missile carriers in the world. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that even as a port, Mormugao has contributed significantly to the development of the country's maritime trade. It is one of the oldest and largest ports in the country. Rajnath Singh said that whether it is Mormugao Fort or Port, both are recorded in history.
