Islamabad: Former Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif is likely to return to Pakistan's active politics. Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has invited him to participate in the opposition-led multilateral conference on Sunday with the aim of launching an agitation against the Imran Khan-led government. The conference will be held in a virtual manner.
Sharif, who was removed from PM's post in 2017, was sentenced to seven years imprisonment in the al-Azjia Steel Mills case in December 2018, but was granted bail in both the cases and was also allowed to go London for treatment. It is believed that The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chief Zardari has discussed on call with Sharif and urged him to join the Conference (APC) of all opposition-led parties on Sunday.
The APC will formulate a strategy to counter Pak PM Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government. The present government is accused of failing to address issues like inflation and poverty. According to the information, all parties are participating in the APC.
