In a recent development, one Naxal insurgent met his demise during a confrontation with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district. The encounter unfolded in the forests near Tetemadgu village, falling under the jurisdiction of Kistaram Police Station.

The operation witnessed the participation of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) alongside troops from the 208 and 204 battalions of COBRA (COmmando Battalion for Resolute Action).

Authorities have launched further investigations into the incident.

This event follows a 48-hour anti-Naxal operation that took place in Chattisgrah's Narayanpur on March 30. Throughout the operation, three encounters occurred, confirmed an official source.

Post-encounter, security forces successfully seized 5 kg of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) along with a significant cache of Naxalite materials from the site, as per police reports. The official account details that on March 29, 2024, during an operation in the jungle hills of Binagunda-Koronar, security personnel encountered three instances of gunfire between approximately 8:00 am and 12:00 pm. The Maoists had set up ambushes, aiming to attack and loot weapons. Security forces responded in self-defense, leading to a four-hour-long encounter.
