Raipur: After the Naxal attack in Bijapur in Chhattisgarh, Maoists have said that a Jawan of the Cobra battalion of CRPF missing since the encounter in the border areas of Sukma and Bijapur on Saturday is in their custody and has demanded the government to appoint a mediator to release the Jawan. Maoists have admitted that 4 of their accomplices were also killed in the encounter.

A letter issued by the Communist Party of India (Maoist) said that 24 security personnel were killed, 31 injured, 1 is in custody in the Bijapur attack. 4 People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) Jawans were killed. We are ready to talk to the government. They can declare intermediaries. We'll release him. Maoists issued a statement on Tuesday saying that on April 3, 2,000 security forces personnel had approached Jiragudem village to attack, to prevent which PLGA carried out the attack. 24 Jawans were killed and 31 injured in the operation. Maoists said in their statement that one Jawan has been taken enraptured while other Jawans fled. They said that the government will first announce the names of the mediators, then the prisoner Jawan will be released, till then he will be under the protection of the Janatana government.
