Nithiin and his production house, Shresth Movies have been finding it hard to lock the casting of Telugu remake of Andhadhun. The makers bought Telugu rights for the remake of Bollywood film Andhadhun after the leading hero Ayushmann Khurrana won National Award for his performance in the film. The producer wants to break the mold of being typecast in romantic films and hence, he wants to try this dark comedy remake. Merlapaka Gandhi will write and direct the remake. From the last few months, the team has been in constant news as they are unable to find a leading lady to play Tabu’s role from the original.

The makers recently have approached Nayantara for the role and the actress quoted a whopping amount of 11 crores at first and then stayed firm on Rs. 8.5 crores as her remuneration. She wanted so much because she expects makers to release the film in Tamil on her name and there her market as the leading heroine is flourishing.

If she appears in the villain role in this film then it will be interesting to see her role. If it succeeds, she will get more opportunities on similar lines. If she fails, she might be trolled and criticized by comparing her to an actress like Tabu. Also, she doesn’t feel the need to star as a villain and to escape smoothly from accepting the film, she might have quoted such a huge price, say sources.
