The NBA world's largest basketball league is set to return. The organizers have planned to start the National Basketball Association of America (NBA) with full security due to Covid-19. This league, which is played among 22 great teams, will start from 31 July and its final match will be played before 12 October. For the first time in the 74-year history of the NBA, the matches will be played without fans. For the first time, all the teams will play their respective matches on just one venue. The Walt Disney World Resort in Florida (Orlando) has been finalized for this. All teams will live there, practice here, play all the matches and stay on the same venue throughout the season. So far, the teams have played 65–66 matches and 72–73 matches remain. Some teams have to play 8 matches and some teams have to play 10 matches. The NBA expects the new season (2020-21) to begin on time.
Players stay in three hotels, are not allowed to enter each other's rooms: Players must remain in self-isolation when they reach Orlando's Disney World. Players will remain in isolation for 48 hours. Until their Covid-19 Tests come back negative, they will not be allowed to play. Players and staff will not be allowed to enter each other's rooms. Players will have to stay in the same three hotels which have been booked for them. Each team has its own chef, players will be able to have food anytime. The food room will be kept open 24 hours. They will also be able to order food through the food app. Everyone will be given a Disney Magic Band. This will be their access and their information will be kept from it. Only 37 people from a team will be allowed to come to the campus. It will have 17 players and other support staff. Teams have also been asked to hire mental health professionals.
First-line people must also wear masks: All players will be required to wear masks. They can remove masks only while eating. No activity will be allowed outside. Whoever is in the first line of the refereeing arena, it will be important to wear masks. This time the entry of fans has been banned during NBA matches. Some people may see teams in the gallery as players from other teams are allowed. Media, team executives, league personalities and sponsors will be allowed.
3-4 matches a day, some will be telecast live: All matches will not be telecast live. The NBA is planning to have three to four matches a day. Only a few matches will be telecast live. If a player is found positive then he will be isolated. Management will confirm whether his report is correct or not. He will be ordered to live in self-isolation for at least 14 days. A panel of three medical experts will examine his medical history and his salary will not be deducted.
