Ranchi: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized 4317 kg of poppy straw from a triple-axle lorry in Ranchi and arrested three suspects involved in the operation. In addition to the massive drug haul, the NCB also seized a new Mahindra Thar vehicle on Thursday, with efforts ongoing to apprehend other suspects linked to the case, according to officials.
NCB officials confirmed that the seized poppy straw is of the highest quality, as determined by lab tests. This latest operation follows earlier successes, including the confiscation of 103.4 kg of high-grade opium from a dumping yard in Ranchi on June 12 and 802 kg of poppy straw from a remote area in Khunti district on May 31.
Speaking to media, NCB officials emphasized their commitment to dismantling the entire drug trafficking network and disrupting their financial operations. The investigation continues as the agency works to identify and bring all individuals involved in these illicit activities to justice.
