Mumbai: NCP chief Sharad Pawar said on Wednesday that the Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray's sarcasm regarding the Jallianwala Bagh again on the central government is an indication that the alliance of Shiv Sena, his party and Congress is on the right track. Thackeray compared the police action on students in Jamia Millia Islamia to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre during protests in Delhi against the amended citizenship law.

According to the media report, Pawar while talking to the press said that if he has said so, it seems that we are on the right track and our government will run for a long time. He also said that in most of the local body elections in the state, there seems to be an agreement on the seat-sharing of local workers of the 3 parties. He said that our alliance is very strong and this government will run for 5 years. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray had said that what happened in Jamia Millia Islamia is like Jallianwala Bagh. The students are a youth bomb. Therefore, we urge the central government not to do what they did to the Jamia students.

Uddhav Thackeray said on this, it is a well thought out attempt to create an atmosphere of unrest in the society. The way the police forcefully entered the campus and opened fire on the students, it looks like the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
