Mumbai: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has demanded the withdrawal of the disputed booklet distributed by the Madhya Pradesh Congress Seva Dal regarding the relationship between freedom fighters Veer Savarkar and Nathuram Godse. Nawab Malik, a spokesperson of NCP, which runs a coalition government with the Congress and Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, said, 'We demand the Congress Seva Dal to withdraw the disputed booklet in which talk of homosexual relations between freedom fighters Veer Savarkar and Nathuram Godse was mentioned.

Earlier on Friday, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said while giving a statement on the matter, 'Veer Savarkar was great and will always be great. People who are doing such things against him, it shows their petty mentality.' It is noteworthy that in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress Seva Dal has set up camp in the state capital with the objective of preparing cadres on the lines of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Among the literature which was distributed in this camp started from Thursday, there is a book that mentions the objectionable relationship between Nathuram Godse and Savarkar.

Such literature was distributed among the trainees who came to the National Training Camp of the Congress Seva Dal which started in the Bairagarh area of Bhopal, which is limited to BJP, Sangh, and Savarkar. A book titled 'Veer Savarkar Kitne Veer' was also distributed, in which it is said that Nathuram Godse and Savarkar were having homosexual relations. The literature distributed in the camp has also targeted the Sangh and the BJP.
