Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar is celebrating his birthday, he turned 80 today. PM Narendra Modi greets Pawar on his birthday. Sharad Pawar was born on December 12, 1940, in Pune district of Maharashtra. In a tweet, Prime Minister Modi said, "Congratulations to Sharad Pawarji on his birthday. May God give them good health and a long life. On the occasion of Pawar's 80 birthday, the online platform 'MahaSharad' will be launched to provide free assistance equipment for Divyangjans. This was reported by Maharashtra Minister Dhananjay Munde.
According to an official release, the website will be launched on Saturday while the mobile app version will be introduced by the end of March next year. The state's social empowerment and special assistance Minister Munde said that his department aims to help 2.9 lakh Divyangjans of the state through the Maharashtra Health and Rehabilitation Assistance System or MahaSharad.

Modern equipment, accessories for PWDs are very important in their normal life, he said. Braille kits, listening machines, prostheses and battery-powered wheelchairs are available in the market, but not everyone can buy them. Many individuals, organizations, private companies, industrialists and others are willing to provide equipment for PWDs, the minister said. The MahaSharad forum will help such donors to reach out to needy persons with disabilities. Those who need this equipment can register from Saturday.
