Former Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who has been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences for eight days, remains in critical condition. On Friday, President Ram Nath Kovind reached AIIMS and took his latest visit. The President was accompanied by Union Health Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Harsh Vardhan and several officials from the Ministry of Health were also present.

According to Ames, the president arrived at 11:30 a.m. He interacted with doctors and family members about Jaitley's health. At around 10 p.m., Union Home Minister Amit Shah, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Uttar Pradesh BJP President Swatanter Dev Singh also reached AIIMS to find out Jaitley's condition. Shah had earlier in the morning reached Jaitley's house and interacted with his family members.

In addition, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas (Independent Charge) Dharmendra Pradhan and Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh also reached AIIMS to take stock of their health. On Twitter, people prayed for Jaitley's early recovery throughout the day. No statement was issued on his health on behalf of AIIMS, but after an evening programme, Dr. Harsh Vardhan said doctors are doing everything possible to treat him. On August 9, he was admitted to the ICU at the Cardiac Neuro (CN) Centre at AIIMS. He was also a prosceptor two days ago, but doctors say he had to provide ventilator support again.
