After farmers, common people are committing suicide, Here's what report says

New Delhi: The NCRB report made shocking revelations regarding the suicide in the country.  Among those who committed suicide in the year 2018, more unemployed and self-employed people are included than farmers. According to official figures, in the year 2018, on average, 35 unemployed and 36 self-employed people committed suicide every day. This year, 26,085 cases of suicide were registered in only these two categories.

According to information received from sources, it is known that according to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, 13,149 self-employed and 12,936 unemployed people gave their lives. During this period, 10,349 farmers committed suicide. This is 9.8 percent and 9.6 percent respectively in the total number.

Increase in suicide cases: For your information, let us tell you that in the year 2018, in case of total suicide cases in the country, 1 lakh 34 thousand 516 people committed suicide during this period. This number is 3.6 percent higher than the year 2017. Death rate has also increased by 0.3 percent per lakh population.

The number of deaths of domestic women is also increasing: when it was investigated, it was found that according to the NCRB report, the trend of suicide among domestic women (housewives) is increasing. In the year 2018, 42,391 women gave their lives, of which 54.1 percent i.e. 22,937 were housewives.
