Mumbai: Due to torrential rains, traffic has also been affected in Mumbai. Due to the non-stop rains for the last two days, the roads have been flooded to the knees, the rail tracks are also flooded. In many areas, there has been water up to the knees on the rail track, which has disrupted train operations. Many railway tracks have been submerged in two and a half to three feet of water. Meanwhile, two local trains have also been caught in the water between Masjid and Bhakkhala railway stations.
Several local passengers stranded in another local train, about 50 meters from the mosque station, have been rescued by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and taken to safer places. The NDRF team rescued the passengers stranded between the mosque station and the Bhayakhala railway station on the central line.
This rescue operation of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) continued till 11 pm on Wednesday late. The Railway Protection Force and NDRF team evacuated about 290 passengers from both local trains. However, during this time no news of the loss of life or property has been revealed.
