New Delhi: Members of Congress, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), and the Trinamool Congress (TMC), as well as other Opposition party leaders, staged a walkout from the Rajya Sabha on Friday, protesting Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi's decision to return the NEET Exemption Bill and demanding that he reverse it immediately.

Tiruchi Siva, a DMK MP from Tamil Nadu, and his party comrades entered the Well of the House to raise the issue in the Upper House.

NEET Exemption Bill was unanimously passed by the Tamil Nadu assembly, according to DMK MPs, and the Governor's move was against the desire of the people of the state. The issue was brought up during the House's Zero Hour.

Members of the DMK insisted on speaking on the subject, but Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu refused. Instead, they were told to return to their seats and "let others speak" during the Zero Hour. Members of the DMK demanded that Governor RN Ravi be removed from office.

Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha Leader Mallikarjun Kharge raised an issue by urging that the Chairman enable members to present their case.Kharge stated his intention to leave because the Chairman refused to allow them to speak about the issue and insisted on continuing the Zero Hour notwithstanding. Members of the Congress, the DMK, and the TMC, as well as others from the opposition parties, then walked out of the House.
