The Union Health Ministry and the National Board of Examinations (NBE), have postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET PG 2022, which would be held on May 21, 2022. The Supreme Court has dismissed a suit seeking an extension of the NEET PG Internship deadline, which was heard today, April 5, 2022.

A bench of Justices DY Chandrachud, Surya Kant, and Bela M Trivedi heard the case of the extension of the internship deadline. The Supreme Court bench noted that it could not extend the deadline because it would disturb the academic schedule.

The bench went on to say that if there are cut-offs, there is always a chance that some people may agree with them while others will disagree. Furthermore, if the petition are granted, the Court will have no choice but to micromanage the curriculum. As a result, the Court had no choice but to stay out of it.
