In the women's singles event of the ongoing 2017 World Badminton Championships yesterday the Indian player Saina Nehwal thrashed Sabrina Jaquet of Switzerland.
She defeated her opponent by 21-11, 21-12 in a second round clash that lasted just a few minutes more than half an hour.
In the men's singles player, B. Sai Praneeth defeated Anthony Sinisuka Ginting of Indonesia to enter into the pre-quarterfinals. He defeated him by 14-21, 21-18,21-19 in a clash that lasted one hour and 12 minutes.
Saina Nehwal will face either India's Tanvi Lad or Sung Ji Hyun of Korea for a place in the quarter-finals while Praneeth will have a face off with Germany's Marc Zwiebler or Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei in the third round.
