NEW DELHI: The new National Education Policy is being implemented keeping in mind the requirements of modern and developed India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday, April 12. He added that the policy places a strong emphasis on the total development of children, as well as the promotion of Indian values.

The prime minister addressed a session for newly-inducted teachers in the capital of Madhya Pradesh in a video message, saying, "The Central government has adopted the new National Education Policy (NEP) keeping in mind the requirements of modern and developed India."

Modi said that the effort in Madhya Pradesh to give government jobs to young people is moving along quickly and that thousands of people have been hired for a variety of positions by holding hiring fairs in various districts. More than 22,400 young people  have been hired for the position of teacher. He commended the young people who had obtained letters of appointment for choosing to participate in such essential activity as teaching.

Highlighting the significant role of teachers in the effective implementation of National Education Policy , Modi said the massive teacher recruitment campaign in Madhya Pradesh is a big step in this direction. Modi also disclosed that the children will benefit from the placement of nearly half of the instructors hired today in tribal areas. 

He also expressed delight that Madhya Pradesh has improved significantly in the quality of education according to the National Achievement Survey as a result of the state's goal of more than one lakh appointments in government posts this year, including 60,000 teachers (NAS).

He also noted that MP moved up from 17th to 5th place (in NAS) without investing on advertising. The government places a special emphasis on skill development to boost employment and self-employment, he said, referring to the ambitious skill development initiative. He noted that under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, skill development centres have been established all throughout the nation to train the youth.

The Prime Minister announced: "In this year's budget, 30 Skill India International Centers will be created where youth would be trained through New Age Technology. An initiative has also been taken to provide training to small craftsmen under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana and to connect them with MSME. 

He appealed to the freshly-appointed teachers to make a place in their hearts for their students similar to a mother. ''You should always keep in mind that education will not only shape the present but also the future of the country'', the prime minister said.

Modi added that the education given by teachers will improve society as well as the lives of kids. The ideals you instill will benefit not only the current generation but also many generations to come, he said.
