Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a video wherein the people in Tamil Nadu's Salem can be seen showering flowers to welcome the new Vande Bharat Express. In the video, the crowd can be seen chanting slogans of “Bharat mata ki jai" as the train slows down at the station. He said, such enthusiasm is common as Vande Bharat Express invokes pride in people.

On April 8, PM Modi launched off the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express in Chennai, Tamil Nadu's MGR Chennai Central Railway Station. The prime minister examined the train's coaches once it arrived and even spoke with regular citizens.

After the Chennai-Mysuru Vande Bharat Express, this is the second Vande Bharat Express train that will run out of Chennai. Every day but Wednesdays, a high-speed train will run between the two cities. It will travel at a speed of 130 kmph, taking roughly 5.5 hours to complete the trip. According to Southern Railway, this will cut travel time for customers by 1.2 hours when compared to other express trains.
The PM is scheduled to launch another Vande Bharat Express in Rajasthan tomorrow ( April 12) which would run between the railway stations in Jaipur and Delhi Cantt.
The Vande Bharat Express train will start running regularly between Ajmer and Delhi Cantt on April 13, 2023, with stops at Jaipur, Alwar, and Gurgaon. In comparison to the Shatabdi Express, the current fastest train on the same route, this high-speed train will travel the distance between Ajmer and Delhi Cantt. in under 5 hours and 15 minutes.
