Kathmandu: The famous Pashupatinath temple in Nepal, which has been closed for the past 9 months due to Corona epidemic, will be opened for devotees from Wednesday i.e. today. According to the Pashupati Area Developmental Trust, the temple was closed due to following public health safety protocols in the Corona period.

According to Pradeep Dhakal, secretary of Pashupatinath Temple Trust, devotees will be allowed to pray inside the temple in view of the health safety protocol. It will be mandatory for all devotees to wear masks while entering the temple. Along with this, arrangements have been made to sanitize those who enter the temple on behalf of Vikas Kosh. The valleys of the Lord Pashupatinath temple were closed to devotees on 20 March 2019 due to the Corona epidemic.

He told that under the Corona Guidelines, entry into the temple will be allowed keeping in mind certain things. The distance of people standing in line will be kept at least two meters. Special worship is not allowed in the temple and devotees cannot perform bhajans, songs and ritual activities during this period. Pradeep Dhakal told that due to the corona we were forced to restrict ourselves, but we would gradually start special pujas, bhajans and other rituals.
