Netflix, a popular streaming service, has rolled out a new feature called "Profile Transfer" to all of its members around the world to stop them from sharing their passwords.
The company said that the "much-requested" feature will let users move their personal recommendations, viewing history, My List, saved games, and other preferences to a new account when they sign up for their own membership.
When the "Profile Transfer" feature is added to a user's account, they will get an email telling them about it.
The company had also said that the "Basic With Ads" streaming plan would go live on November 3 in a number of countries. This was done so that users could watch videos with ads.
Greg Peters, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Product Officer, said in a statement, "The plan is an exciting opportunity for advertisers. It gives them the chance to reach a diverse audience, including younger viewers who don't watch linear TV as much as they used to, in a premium environment with seamless, high-resolution ads."
At the start, ads will be 15 or 30 seconds long and will run before and during movies and TV shows.
"Advertisers will also be able to stop their ads from showing up on content that might not fit with their brand," the company said.
