But with the arrival of cold weather, cases are continuously increasing. The concern of the health department has increased even more due to the emergence of a new variant of Corona virus. However, at present new cases of this variant are not emerging.
More than 4.5 crore people infected: Not only this, the epidemic was at its peak in the beginning of 2020, when the number of patients coming every day was in lakhs. Since then, more than 4.5 crore people have been infected across the country in almost 4 years. At the same time, more than 5.3 lakh people have lost their lives. Official sources say a single-day increase of 841 new cases was recorded on December 31 last year, which is 0.2 percent of the peak cases reported in May 2021. Of the total active cases, most of them (about 92 per cent) are recovering under home isolation.
So many people got vaccinated: According to the website of the ministry, the number of people recovering from the disease has increased to more than 4.4 crores. The national recovery rate of patients is 98.81 percent. So far, 220.67 crore doses of corona virus vaccines have been given in the country.
