New Delhi: The Union Cabinet today allowed the opening of a new Consulate in India in The Addu city (Addu City) of Maldives at a meeting led by PM Modi. India and Maldives have had ethnic, linguistic, cultural, religious and trade relations since ancient times.
In India's far-reaching thinking for the future, Maldives has a big place under the First Policy and Security and Growth for All in the Region of Security and Development for All under 'Security and Development for All'. The opening of a new consulate in Addu city will further enhance India's diplomatic presence in maldives and strengthen existing ties and aspirations. At present, bilateral relations between the two countries led by PM Modi and Maldives President Solih are reportedly scaling new dimensions and heights unexpectedly.
It is also a major step towards advancing the Modi government's policy of national priority for Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas and Development. The increase in India's diplomatic presence will also help Indian companies to make inroads into the markets there and boost exports of Indian goods and services. It will also have a direct impact on domestic production and increased employment opportunities in line with our goals of a self-reliant India.
