Mumbai: Once again there has been a corona explosion in India. Omicron's cases are also growing rapidly. In the last 24 hours, 58,097 new cases of corona infection have been reported in the country. Corona killed 534 people in a day. So, the number of people infected with omicrons has increased to 2,135. In view of the increasing corona cases in the country, the Centre as well as the state government have come on alert mode. In many states, the period of strictness and anti-bandhs has resumed. There is talk of putting lockdown again in many regions. The Delhi government has declared a weekend curfew amid the same corona infection and the growing cases of its omicron variant. The Delhi government has directed that at least 40 per cent of the corona in hospitals with 50 or more beds be kept for patients. It may be recalled that the infection in Delhi is spreading at the rate of 8.5 per cent. In view of the increasing corona cases in Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has made rapid RT-PCR test mandatory for all international passengers coming to Mumbai International Airport. BJP MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe on Thursday wrote to Uddhav Thackeray saying that it has been decided to limit the number of guests at weddings to 50, which is impractical and oppressive. The Maharashtra government had issued guidelines on Corona on December 30. It prohibits marriages, social, political, religious events. 50 people are allowed to attend pre-arranged family ceremonies like marriage.
