Ranchi: The government has introduced a new rule in Jharkhand for ration card holders. It has been decided that if you are a ration card holder, you will have to take ration every month. Failure to do so may lead to a big loss. Under the new rule, if you do not lift the ration from the PDS shop for a month, you will not be entitled to that ration in the next month. The order has come into force from January, 2022.

On the other hand, the Public Distribution System Shopkeepers Association has protested against the government's new decision. Union President Gyandev Jha says the order could cause major losses to lakhs of ration card holders. He said there are many people who are not aware of the new rules. In that case, if they do not take ration for a month, they will not be able to take the ration of that month.

With this, the shopkeepers have been entrusted with the responsibility of spreading the news to 60 lakh ration card holders in the state PDS. Ration card holders, especially in rural areas, are required to report the news. The government has said that the decision has been taken to make the scheme transparent and to prevent black marketing.
