In an exciting development for rail commuters, Indian Railways is set to launch a new Vande Bharat Express Special train linking Chennai Central with Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. This initiative marks the introduction of the fourth semi-high-speed train by the national transporter within a month, aimed at enhancing travel efficiency for passengers across the country.

Operating under train numbers 06035 and 06036, this upcoming semi-high-speed train will connect the major cities of Chennai Central and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. The train numbered 06035 will travel the Chennai Central-Coimbatore route, while the train numbered 06036 will cover the Coimbatore-Chennai Central route.

The introduction of the Chennai Central-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express adds to the roster of three other special semi-high-speed trains currently in operation: New Delhi-Patna Junction, Chennai Egmore-Tirunelveli, and Howrah-New Jalpaiguri. The launch of these specially designed blue and white trains aims to cater to the increased demand for travel during festive seasons.

Scheduled to cover a distance of 497 kilometers in seven hours and five minutes, the Chennai Central-Coimbatore-Chennai Central Vande Bharat Express Special train will become the fourth fastest train on the route. The other top contenders taking similar routes, such as CBE Vande Bharat, MAS-TVC Superfast Mail, and TVC AC Superfast Express, cover the same distance in 06:00 hrs, 06:52 hrs, and 06:58 hrs respectively.

During its journey, the train numbered 06035/06036 Chennai Central-Coimbatore-Chennai Central Vande Bharat Express Special will make stops at five designated stations, including Jolarpettai, Katpadi Junction, Erode Junction, Salem Junction, and Tiruppur railway stations. This special semi-high-speed service will operate weekly, specifically on Tuesdays, offering its services to passengers until January 30, 2024.

The train composition will consist of eight coaches, featuring seven AC Chair Car coaches and one AC Executive Chair Car, ensuring a comfortable travel experience for passengers.
