In view of the many changes taking place in India, last year, the Ministry of Transport, citing the provisions of the IT Act, said that now the original copies of documents like driving license, registration certificate and insurance paper should not be taken for verification. In its statement, the Ministry had said that the electronic copy of the documents on the DigiLocker and MParivahan app would be considered valid. The Central Government had instructed the transport departments and traffic police of the states in this regard that they should not take an original copy of the documents for verification.
For your information, now the traffic police can extract the driver or transport information from the mobiles with the QR code from their database and also keep a record of the driver violating the traffic rules. To take advantage of this feature, you must first download the DigiLocker and mPerivahan app on your smartphone. After this, you have to enter your mobile number to signup. Then an OTP will come on your mobile. Verify by entering that OTP. In the second step, you have to set your user name and password to login.
Just then your DigiLocker account will be created. In which you can authenticate your Aadhaar number. An OTP will come on your mobile number registered in the Aadhaar database. After entering that OTP, the process of authenticating Aadhaar will be completed. After this your DigiLocker account will be created. Now authenticate your Aadhaar number in it. Now you can download a copy of RC, license and insurance from Digilocker and show it to the police. In the mPerivahan app, the name of the owner of the vehicle, the date of registration, model number, the validity of insurance, etc. are known. In such a situation, you will not need to carry any type of papers together.
