A new train service connecting New Jalpaiguri and Patna, dubbed the Vande Bharat Express, is set to kick off operations on March 14th. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the service on Tuesday, marking a significant addition to the region's transportation network.

The Vande Bharat Express will depart from New Jalpaiguri at 5:15 a.m. and arrive at Patna junction at 12:10 p.m. on the same day. The return journey from Patna to New Jalpaiguri will commence at 1:00 p.m., reaching its destination by 8:00 p.m. The journey spans 471 kilometers, traversing through Kishanganj and Katihar, and is expected to take around 7 hours each way. The service will run six days a week.

Comprising eight coaches, including one executive class, five chair cars, and two driver trail coaches, the Vande Bharat Express can accommodate up to 530 passengers. This new service aims to improve connectivity between these two key cities and provide easier access for residents of Kishanganj, Katihar, and neighboring areas.

The introduction of the New Jalpaiguri-Patna Vande Bharat Express brings the total number of Vande Bharat trains in West Bengal to six. Additionally, Prime Minister Modi launched another Vande Bharat Express service on the same day, which will operate between Patna and Gomti Nagar.

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi connected with the event via video conferencing from Ahmedabad. The development of transportation infrastructure is a key focus of the government, with plans for the Vande Bharat Express to soon extend its services to Tripura upon the completion of railway electrification projects.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed optimism about the impending arrival of the Vande Bharat Express in the region, emphasizing the government's commitment to transparent governance and development. He hailed the introduction of the Vista Dome and underscored Prime Minister Modi's dedication to people-centric policies and infrastructure development.

With these initiatives, the government aims to foster enhanced connectivity, bolster regional development, and ensure efficient transportation services for all citizens.
