THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala is on the brink of welcoming its second Vande Bharat Express train, with sources buzzing with excitement over the imminent launch.

According to insider information, the sleek and modern train is slated to make its inaugural journey this coming Sunday, commencing its voyage from Kasargod, the northernmost district, at the stroke of 7 a.m. Its destination? The bustling state capital, where it's set to make its grand entrance at 3.05 pm.

Upon its return on the very same day, this engineering marvel will bid adieu to Thiruvananthapuram at 4.05 pm, gracefully chugging its way back to Kasargod, with a scheduled arrival time of 11.55 p.m.

The first Vande Bharat Express was inaugurated with great pomp and circumstance on April 25, graced by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.

While the original Vande Bharat Express embarks on its daily journey from the state capital at the crack of dawn, setting forth at 5.20 a.m., it gracefully pulls into Kasargod by 12.03 pm. The return leg, however, commences in the afternoon, departing from Kasargod at 2.30 pm and arriving in Thiruvananthapuram at 10.35 p.m.

Interestingly, while the inaugural Vande Bharat service operates along the scenic Kottayam route, the eagerly awaited new entrant is set to dazzle passengers along the picturesque Alappuzha route.

The regular commercial service promises to make stops at key stations, including Kollam, Kottayam (the first Vande Bharat stop), Alappuzha (the second Vande Bharat stop), Ernakulam, Thrissur, Shornur, Kozhikode, and Kannur, culminating its journey in Kasargod. However, the inaugural special train, ceremoniously flagged off by Modi, boasts an extended list of stops.

The first Vande Bharat Express has been warmly embraced by the people of Kerala, frequently operating at full capacity. On weekends, enthusiasts flock in droves, often necessitating advance bookings to secure a seat on this highly coveted journey.
